Finally its in the air!!
After a long planning period stretching back to the early 80s, the european designed and built airlifter is finally in the air. Its gestation has been a troubled one, using a mostly carbon composite construction and a brand new and previously untested engine design. Billions over budget and years late this aircraft was almost cancled at the start of the year, and there are still some doubts as to the financing agreed to by the purchasing partners. Meant to be displayed at the 2008 ILA, its just good to see her flying. The display pilot had no problems with pushing the aircraft to the limit, including the turn where it is pushed about 15 degrees beyond knife edge.
This particular aircraft is MSN001, the very first one built. MSN002 is already flying, and soon MSN003, MSN004 and the production representative MSN006 will join the flight testing. (MSN005 was cancled due to budget cuts).

EMBRAER 195 AIR EUROPA
El primer vuelo del E-190 fue en marzo de 2004, y el del 195 en diciembre del mismo ano. El cliente de lanzamiento del E-190 fue la aerolinea de bajo costo jetBlue con 100 pedidos y opcion de 100 mas. La aerolinea de bajo costo europea flybe fue el cliente de lanzamiento del E-195 con 14 pedidos y opcion a 14 mas. Como la familia 190/195 es del mismo tamano que muchos aviones de primera linea, muchas de las companias operan con ellos directamente (no a traves de subsidiarias regionales o lanzadera) y dotandolos de clase "business".
The first flight of the E-190 was in March 2004 and 195 in December of that year. The launch customer for the E-190 was the low-cost carrier JetBlue with 100 orders and options for 100 more. The European budget airline flybe was the launch customer for the E-195 with 14 orders and options for 14 more. Like the 190/195 family is the same size as many front-line aircraft, many companies operate with them directly (not through regional subsidiaries or shuttle) and providing them with business class.
